PHILIPPINES: Social Hygiene Clinic Women with their passbooks waiting for VD smears at the Social Hygiene Clinic, a joint facility of the U.S. Navy and the City of Olongapo. [Identical facilities exist in the bar areas of Korea and Okinawa.] All working in the bars are required to report for a smear every other week and must pay for the tests themselves.
