OKINAWA: Above the Bar

Filipinas are imported to Okinawa for the exclusive use of U.S. service personnel. They are housed in cubicles with bared windows and doors above the bar where they work. They are locked in at night, unlocked to work downstairs in the bar in the early evening. As each woman has a monthly quota of bar drinks to meet, one of her first work tasks is to stand outside the bar and try to get servicemen to come inside and buy drinks. Quotas range from 400 to 500 drinks per month.
